Persimmons: A Conservation Story

Every year my mama pulps persimmons. Her persimmon trees are from the seeds of a tree that stood in her grandfather’s yard- gone nearly twenty years now (that’s another story). Every year I think I’m going to save some seeds to bring home and plant, but always seem to let October slip by without getting it done. When I picked up my kids at her house last week I saw she had gathered a 50 gallon tub of milkweed pods to scatter in fence rows and ditches around home for the monarch butterflies. Such a small, simple act can have so much impact. I decided I had no excuse to not plant persimmon seeds this year. So, here is the video for BIO675 DB.
